Paralimni · 1-to-1
Personal training in Paralimni
You do not have to be an athlete, and you do not have to arrive fit. Most people who start here have not trained in years, or have trained inconsistently for a long time and have nothing to show for it. The work is 1-to-1, and it starts from where you are.
One shoe size does not fit all
That is Ramo’s own line, and it is the whole method. A programme written for someone who wants to lose weight has almost nothing in common with one written for someone rebuilding a knee, and neither looks like the plan for a cyclist who needs to be stronger by March. What they share is that somebody watched you move first.
The gym is where most self-directed training quietly goes wrong. It is rarely laziness. A movement done with poor form five hundred times is five hundred repetitions of the wrong thing, and nothing tells you so until something hurts.
- General fitness: a balanced mix of cardio, strength and mobility for someone who wants to be healthier rather than to compete.
- Weight management: training matched to how you eat and what your body responds to, aimed at something you can still be doing in a year.
- Power and strength: compound lifts and progressive overload, taught properly, loaded gradually.
- Stamina and endurance: aerobic and anaerobic work for people whose limiting factor is how long they can keep going.
- Sport-specific strength: agility, coordination and the strength a particular sport asks for. If that sport is cycling, swimming or triathlon, it is planned alongside the rest of your training rather than bolted on: see coaching.
What a first month looks like
Deliberately unexciting. The first weeks are about establishing that you can turn up, move well and recover, because the people who get results are almost never the ones who trained hardest in week one.
- A conversation, then an assessment. What you want, what you have done before, what hurts, and how much time you have.
- Technique before load. You will lift lighter than you expect at first. That is the point: every movement is taught before it is loaded.
- Consistency before intensity. Two sessions a week that happen beat four that are planned.
- Progress you can see written down. Weights, repetitions and how the sessions felt, so that improvement is a record rather than an impression.
- Setbacks are planned for. Illness, work and holidays happen to everyone. A programme that only works in a perfect month is not a programme.
Who this tends to suit
- People who have tried a gym alone and stopped. Usually because nothing was progressing and nobody noticed.
- People coming back after an injury or a long gap, who need someone to say what is safe to load and when.
- Cyclists in the off-season: strength work is the cheapest performance available to a rider who only ever rides.
- Parents of athletes in the youth programme, who turn out to want their own version of it. See youth coaching.
If a gym is not where you want to start, it does not have to be. Outdoor training asks for a pair of shoes and nothing else, and does most of the same work.

A number to start from
Body mass index is a crude measure and it cannot tell muscle from anything else, but it is a figure you can watch move over a few months. Nothing you type here leaves your phone.
Body mass index
Move a slider and the figure follows. Nothing you type here leaves your phone.
Opens on a middling adult, not on you. Move both to your own.
Weight ÷ height squared; the band beside it is that sum run backwards at 18.5 and at 25, which are the marks on the scale. It cannot tell muscle from fat, so it reads high for anyone carrying real muscle. A figure to track over time, and nothing more than that.
Book a consultationAn estimate is a starting point. The consultation is where it becomes a plan: tested, in person, in Paralimni.
No starting fitness required
Come and have the conversation
The first session is mostly talking and moving, not training. If it is not the right fit, you will know quickly and so will we.
